The Meaning Behind the Painting

Fihā Fākihah explores the relationship between faith, nature, and abundance.

Inspired by the Qur’anic verse “In them are fruits, palm trees, and pomegranates,” the pomegranate becomes the focal point of the piece — not simply as a fruit, but as a symbol of beauty, richness, and the blessings within Allah's creation.

The pomegranates are hand-sculpted from clay, creating a raised, tactile element that makes the fruit appear almost as though it is growing from the canvas.

The red glass pebbles represent the jewel-like seeds within the fruit, while the white and gold palette creates a sense of purity, warmth, elegance, and abundance.

The gold leaf adds another layer of meaning — catching the light and emphasizing the preciousness of creation.

The botanical elements surrounding the pomegranates represent growth and renewal, while the flowing Arabic calligraphy brings the spiritual heart of the piece into focus.
